Setting advanced import options

The importing options in the Preferences window allow you to balance the quality of the music conversion and the amount of disk space the songs use. Usually, the preset options are your best choice.

To choose your own import settings: Choose Preferences from the iTunes application menu, then click the Importing tab in the window. Choose Custom from the Configuration pop-up menu.
